References in this Privacy Policy to “ we", “us” and “ our” means Adviser Colab Limited (Adviser Colab). Businesses who engage the services of Adviser Colab (Adviser Colab Partners) hold Financial Advice Provider licences issued by the Financial Markets Authority (FAP Licence). Adviser Colab Partners provide, or engage Financial Advisers to provide, financial advice to clients.
What personal information do we collect?
Personal information means information that identifies, or is capable of identifying, you.
This includes details such as your name, date of birth, address, contact details, account details and occupation.
If you are a client of an Adviser Colab Partner, it also includes information about your financial situation or goals that has been collected by the Adviser Colab Partner to recommend insurance or mortgage products to you. If you hold insurance products, this information may also include the insurance application form and related information.
How do we access and collect your personal information?
If you are a client of a Adviser Colab Partner, generally we will access and collect your personal information directly from the relevant Adviser Colab Partner. This may be done by us accessing the Adviser Colab Partner’s client management system, or by requesting that the Adviser Colab Partner provide your personal information to us.
As a client of an Adviser Colab Partner, you sign a Declaration Form that authorises the Adviser Colab Partner to share your personal information with third parties in the course of providing you insurance or mortgage advice services. We may also access and collect your personal information from:
● You, where you provide us with your information
● Product Providers, such as an Insurer or Lender
● Any other person authorised by you or the Privacy Act
Why do we access and collect your personal information?
We access and collect your personal information so that:
● If you are an Adviser Colab Partner (or a Financial Adviser engaged by an Adviser Colab Partner), we can provide services to you.
● If you are a client, we can provide services to the Adviser Colab Partners and carry out our servicing obligations to you, which includes the provision of insurance application and administration services.
● We can respond to you and assist with the administration of your insurance or mortgage products.
Updating your personal information
If you are a client of an Adviser Colab Partner and any of your details change, please contact us or your Adviser.
To whom we may disclose your personal information
We may disclose your personal information to the following entities or people if we consider it necessary to do so for the purposes described above:
● Product Providers, such as Insurers or Lenders, in relation to insurance or loans that you hold as a client
● Contractors or service providers that we may use.
● Investors, or any entity that has an interest in our business or any entity to whom we consider assigning or transferring any of our rights or obligations or selling all or part of our business.
● Anyone who we are legally required or authorised to share your information with, including regulators and government agencies.
● External auditors to ensure we are meeting our obligations.
● Any other person or entity authorised by you or the Privacy Act.
Prior to disclosing any of your personal information to another person or organisation, we will take all reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the person or organisation has a commitment to protecting your personal information at least equal to our commitment.
Do we disclose your personal information to anyone outside New Zealand?
We use cloud storage to store personal information we hold about you. The cloud storage and servers may be located outside New Zealand. We may also disclose personal information to contractors and service providers located overseas for some of the purposes listed above.

● If you are a client of an Adviser Colab Partner and you don’t provide authorisation to the Adviser Colab Partner to share your personal information with us, this may impact their ability to provide services to you

We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time, by publishing an updated version on this page, to reflect changes in the law and also our business needs so long as the changes do not disadvantage you.
